Cellular Shades or Honeycomb Shades

The photos above include our beautiful honeycomb shades, also known as cellular shades. These are a popular option right now for a view reasons. First, they have a classic look that is a step-above blinds or roller shades. Next, they are the best window coverings at insulating, which may reduce heating and cooling costs. And lastly, they are an affordable option.

This Aliso Viejo home was getting a full set of new windows, so of course they needed to upgrade their window coverings! Our designer went to the home for a free in-home consultation. They measured the windows, showed samples and fabric options, and put the order in for the customer.

These Aliso Viejo cellular shades are by Alta Window Fashions and are in the color Coastal Eddy. While this color is now discontinued, we have over 200 fabric options to find you a fabric that works for your style and budget.

Inside Mount vs. Outside Mount

The photos above show the difference between inside mount shades and outside mount shades. Inside mount shades are recommended in daytime rooms, such as living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, etc.

Outside mount shades are recommended in bedrooms. They help to block more light by going just slightly past the frame of the window. Sometimes our customers also include outside mount shades in their home office as it can help to reduce glare on computer screens.

The above outside mount cellular shades in the bedroom are also blackout shades. Blackout fabric further reduces light using either thicker materials with less opacity or a lining on the back. Your designer can go over options with you at your free in-home consultation.

Bay Window Custom Shade

Our custom reached out needing a custom solution for their bay window. They wanted to have the option to reduce the incoming light as well as in crease the privacy since it faced the street. We scheduled a free consultation to see the window in person and discus options

Top Down Bottom Up Shade

Our designer recommended a top down bottom up honeycomb shade (also known as a cellular shade). This would allow them to open the top portion of the shade to allow in more light while keeping the privacy aspect. Or they could raise the shade all the way to enjoy their full view.

Honeycomb shades are a great option as they come in a variety of fabrics to match your decor, and they are great an insulating which may reduce heating and cooling costs.

At Cali Coast Shutters & Shades we offer a variety of roller shade options to fit your needs. In the above photos you’ll see a donation of roller shades we did for the Lakewood office of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater LA. It was our pleasure to donate these shades to support the efforts of this amazing organization.

This office is located on the outside of the mall and wanted privacy during after hours yet needed a functional option so they can raise the shades to create a welcoming doorway.

Through a free in-person consultation our designer helped them pick out the right fabric and opacity for their retail roller shade needs. The roller shades are then custom made to the dimensions of the doors, and professionally installed.

Retail store roller shades are a common project for us, and we do offer discounts on retail locations with a high number of windows. Office building roller shades are another common project for us. Office shades are usually used to block light and prevent screen glare, and we have office roller shade options to fit every office’s needs.

Commercial Building Roller Shades

We know our commercial building roller shade customers are looking for shades that fit their budget and needs, and we have options. We off three types of roller shades depending on what you’re looking for and what your project budget is for roller shades.
