Once a deposit was made, it took about 6 to 7 weeks for the custom shutters to be made and then professionally installed. They look great in the beautiful home.

In the above photos, you’ll see a custom split tilt halfway up the window. There is no additional charge to add a split tilt, and you can customize where the tilt is. For many rooms, a 50/50 split works great. But for a bedroom where you may want some additional privacy we offer a split higher up on the shutter.

Dual Shades have a combination of sheer and banded fabrics. You can line up the bands behind each other to allow for more light and partial views, while also keeping some privacy. Or you can adjust the shades to close the bands which blocks light and offers full privacy in your home.

Looking for a full view? When fully retracted the shade completely lifts into the headrail, giving you a full open window view and maximum light.

The skylight shades featured in the photos above are honeycomb shades. Also called cellular shades, we recommend these for skylights all the times for two reasons. One, they are a great option to block light. And two, honeycomb shades are insulating which can reduce heating and cooling costs.

Cellular shades come in sheer, semi-sheer, semi-opaque, and blackout fabrics, meaning you can customize the amount of light you let through depending on your choice.

Motorization

This customer reached out about their bathroom window. They wanted a window treatment option that gave them privacy but still allowed them to operate the window. After discussing options with the customer, they decided on a custom plantation shutter for their bathroom.

No job is too small for us, this is the only window the customer wanted to do at this time. Cali Coast Shutters & Shades is happy to help out with projects big and small.

Vinyl vs. Wood Shutters

Our specialty is shutters, and specifically our custom Basswood Shutters. Real wood is durable to last a lifetime but light enough to not strain the hardware on shutters.

However, in this case we recommended our vinyl shutters. Why? Because this shutter is located in a bathroom. Areas of high moisture, such as a bathroom with a shower, do better with a vinyl shutter. The wood can be sensitive to constant high levels of moisture from a warm daily shower. But the vinyl is the perfect option.

We have the same paint and finish options on our vinyl shutters, so looking at a vinyl shutter next to a wood shutter you could barely tell any difference.
